Every weekday, the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer holds a “Morning Meeting” livestream at 10:20 a.m. ET. Here’s a recap of Thursday’s key moments. 1. Stocks are down Thursday as disappointing earnings from several major technology companies weighed on the market. Alphabet tumbled after missing revenue expectations , despite strong growth in Google Cloud. The core Search business fell short of estimates for a second straight quarter. Microsoft , initially higher, succumbed to the tech selloff despite delivering a strong quarter . Azure revenue growth accelerated. Jim Cramer praised Microsoft’s ability to expand its AI business while maintaining financial discipline, particularly as Alphabet faced concerns about negative free cash flow. “Today is a day of opportunity,” Jim said, arguing that investors are indiscriminately selling strong companies alongside weaker ones. “A lot of bad trading, a lot of trigger pulling for people who don’t know what to do.” After the bell, Amazon and Intel report earnings. 2. Shares of Eli Lilly surged to an all-time high Thursday after a strong beat-and-raise quarter, fueled by continued demand for its blockbuster obesity and diabetes treatments. Jim spoke with CEO David Ricks on CNBC’s ” Squawk on the Street ” and highlighted the company’s efforts to address one of the biggest challenges facing weight-loss drugs: patients discontinuing treatment because of unpleasant side effects. Lilly is developing new treatments to improve tolerability and help patients stay on the medications longer. Jim also pointed to the success of the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program, which is bringing more patients into the category, with Lilly capturing seven out of every 10 new participants. 3. FedEx reported better-than-expected quarterly results Wednesday and raised its full-year earnings outlook, though a softer-than-expected fourth-quarter forecast kept a lid on gains. Higher transportation, labor, and aircraft maintenance costs are pressuring near-term profitability, But Jim said CEO Raj Subramaniam remains confident that domestic margins will improve in 2027 as the company streamlines its operations. Jim also expressed optimism about the upcoming holiday shipping season, predicting FedEx will surpass rival UPS for the first time. FedEx Freight , which was spun off from FedEx in June, reports earnings after the bell. (Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust is long GOOGL, MSFT, AMZN, INTC, LLY, FDX, FDXF.
