Spotify has been exploring various new ventures over the past year, from launching audiobooks to video podcasts featuring top influencers and creators. Now, the platform is reportedly working on a premium plan called “Music Pro which could bring more than just higher-quality audio streaming to the subscribers. According to a Bloomberg report, Music Pro could include exclusive features powered by AI, such as remixing tools, and may even provide access to concert tickets.

The AI mixing tool allows users to mash up tracks from different artists to create their own custom mixes, reported Android Authority. Bloomberg, in its reports, further mentioned that Spotify’s Music Pro tier might be available for up to $5.99 (Rs 520 approx) on top of existing subscriptions. However, it is to be noted that the prices might vary as the company is working on acquiring rights from various artists and music labels over rights and royalties.

Like its existing subscription plans, the music streaming service is also said to make Music Pro available at cheaper prices in some countries. In the US, Spotify Premium is priced at $11.99 (Rs 1,040 approx) a month, while a monthly subscription in India costs Rs 119, currently.

In addition to this, the Swedish music streaming platform is also said to be in talks with big promoters, ticket sellers, and labels to eventually offer access to concert ticketing options like presales and VIP seats as part of the Spotify Music Pro plan.

It’s important to note that Spotify wouldn’t be the first streaming service to offer lossless audio quality. Competitors like Tidal and Apple Music already provide Hi-Res lossless music streaming. However, Spotify users will have to wait until later this year to experience the new “Music Pro” tier. While sources indicate that the feature is in the works, Spotify is yet to confirm official details such as pricing and launch dates.

Spotify has been developing this super-premium tier for several years, marking a significant shift in its business strategy. Traditionally, the company has maintained consistent pricing across major markets, but now it seeks to diversify its offerings and cater to a broader range of listeners. This move follows slower growth in key markets like the US, as Spotify looks to boost its appeal with exclusive features and higher-tier subscription plans.
