In honor of Black History Month (BHM), Barbie is teaming up with the Black in Fashion Council (BIFC) to spotlight rising Black designers and inspire the next generation of fashion leaders by providing accurate representation.

Though Black culture has greatly influenced fashion, Black designers comprise a small percentage of the industry. To help change that, Barbie and BIFC have enlisted three emerging designers—Nia Thomas, Fumi Egbon, and Larissa Muehleder—to identify the most significant hurdles facing aspiring Black fashion professionals.

The initiative will include special programming at the 2025 ENVSN Festival, a two-day event for young creatives (ages 12-27) featuring industry panels, hands-on workshops, and mentorship opportunities.

Through this partnership, Barbie aims to help break down barriers and create more opportunities for Black designers in fashion.
