Wonderlooms, an innovative start-up from Bhopal, has achieved considerable success on the renowned business reality show Shark Tank India. The company, which manufactures specialist adventure gear and equipment for motorcyclists, impressed the show’s investors with its unique approach, securing a deal of Rs 50 lakh.
Wonderlooms founder Prateek Vats, an experienced bike rider himself, spoke to Local18. He shared that he has been riding bikes for the last 15 years and has embarked on adventure expeditions in numerous countries, including India.
He identified a gap in the Indian market: a lack of riding gear specifically designed for the country’s unique weather conditions, culture, and road conditions. Recognising a business opportunity, he drew upon his savings of Rs 5-6 lakh to establish Wonderlooms in 2019.
In its initial stage, Wonderlooms secured funding of Rs 25 lakh from Bhopal-based angel investor Ravi Nigam, facilitating business expansion. Subsequently, the company launched gear specifically designed for Ladakh, Spiti, and other prominent motorcycling routes.
Wonderlooms previously competed in Season 2 of Shark Tank but did not advance to the final round. In Season 4, the company returned better prepared and successfully navigated several interview rounds to secure a place on the show.
Following three to four days of preparation at the studio, Wonderlooms delivered their pitch to the sharks. Judges Namita Thapar and Ritesh Agarwal recognised the start-up’s potential, ultimately offering a deal of Rs 50 lakh.
Wonderlooms offers products designed to suit Indian weather and road conditions. Its adventure-friendly and comfortable gear for bikers delivers a unique blend of safety and style. With this approach, Wonderlooms has taken a step towards becoming a trusted brand for riders across the country.
