Siri AI upgrade is Apple’s biggest challenge as it looks to take on OpenAI and Google Gemini in the market.

Apple’s Glowtime promise for iPhone users faces more issues.
The big Siri AI upgrade, which will change the way Apple’s assistant talks to you, faces more delays as per reports coming in recently. The company was widely tipped to release the iOS 18.4 with the new-look, conversational Siri powered by Apple Intelligence (AI) but that roll out might now get pushed to the iOS 18.5 update.
The AI push from Apple has been far from smooth ever since the iOS 18 AI features were demoed at the iPhone 16 launch event last year and it seems the challenges are only getting tougher.
Siri AI Update Delay: But Why
The Bloomberg report suggests Apple’s engineers are unable to fix the errors and bugs in the software that will make Sir AI-powered. These are some big technical challenges and it will serve Apple really well if they only release the new Siri for the users when things are in full shape.
Siri is a big part of Apple’s AI push and if the crucial aspect of the voice assistant isn’t working as advertised by the company, make it work, before you decide to make it available for everyone.
We have already seen the company have issues with the AI notification summary tool which was forced to be disabled with the iOS 18.3 update. Imagine if a half-baked Siri throws up errors that won’t reflect well on the company and its high-rise promises of AI to compete with ChatGPT and Gemini AI. So, the report claims Apple is now happy to push the Siri AI upgrade to the iOS 18.5 update that might be scheduled for May this year.
As we have said before, the AI battle does not need to be about coming first, it is about doing it the right way without any glitches. Amazon is also sailing in the same AI boat but the company seems confident to unveil its new Alexa later this month, which has already missed two deadlines.
ChatGPT is moving to a more evolved state while Google can afford people to use its Gemini Live for free and it seems to be working. Apple, we wait for you to show the big guns but it needs to happen soon.
