JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar have finally merged in India on Friday and the new JioHotstar app is now live for existing and new subscribers of these platforms in the country. JioHotstar is basically a combination of the content and shows that you were watching on these digital platforms and now you get all of them under one brand.

JioHotstar App Live: What It Means For Existing Users
Those of you already using the Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema services in the country will continue to run their existing subscription till it ends. This means, if you have paid for Hotstar and your plan is valid till April 2025, it remains the same. And if you have paid for JioCinema, subscribers can continue using the service till their plan expires next month.
The new platform will offer plans starting from Rs 149 for three months if you want the mobile-only plan with ads. This version only works on one device and you have the Rs 499 option for the same tier but for 12 months subscription.
JioHotstar App Now Available: What About The New Users
Now that we have answered about the situation with the existing users on these platforms, it is time to address the queries that new subscribers will have. The good news is that JioHotstar subscription plans start from the same Rs 149 for 3 months (mobile-only) for both new and old users. The only difference is that new subscribers will have to pay now while the existing ones can upgrade or renew once their current plan expires.
