Sony says sorry for the major PlayStation Network outage which meant millions of PS gamers were unable to access their online games and other features. Having this down time on weekends makes the situation worse, as many of you might have waited long to catch up on their gaming sessions.

But a 24-hour outage is really long, so it is understandable that Sony is apologising for the issue. The company has publicly admitted to the issue and apologised for the inconvenience caused to people in many countries in the last few days. The Downdetector platform is brimming with outage reports and most of them are linked to the Sony PS server and the online store.

Free Extension For PS Plus Members

All Sony PS Plus members are getting additional 5 days of service to their account and that will be automatically included in their roster for free.

The company has not shared the actual reason for the major down time but Sony realises it needs to keep the gamers happy and for that it is offering them something that will help them feel better. The outage was big enough to stop people from playing on their PS 4 and PS 5 consoles, making the start to the weekend rather unpleasant. Most people in the US had reported the outage while hundreds of them originated from India earlier this week.

PS Plus allows gamers to play the latest titles for free and Sony brings new titles every month for which these people pay a monthly charge.
