Vivo’s new V-series phone gets a better Zeiss camera setup but the hardware upgrades are minimal even with a bigger battery.

Vivo has expanded its flagship smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Vivo V50. Vivo is using the Snapdragon chipset to power the device which gives you a host several AI-driven features, including Circle to Search, Transcript Assist, and Live Call Translation. The company also relies on the Zeiss Optics cameras on the V and X series devices in the market, and now it is also adopting a new battery technology.

Vivo V50 has launched in India for Rs 34,990 for the base model, and the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB variants have been priced at Rs 36,999 and Rs 40,999, respectively.
Vivo V50 Features
The Vivo V50 features a 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The smartphone operates on FuntouchOS 15, based on Android 15.
The V50 sports a dual rear camera setup, featuring a 50MP primary sensor (f/1.88) with optical image stabilization (OIS) for enhanced clarity and stability, alongside a 50MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.0 aperture), making it an ideal choice for photography enthusiasts. On the front, the device houses a 50MP selfie camera for selfies and high-quality video calls.
The sleek device manages to pack a huge 6,000 mAh battery, promising longer usage and it comes with a 90W wired fast charging support. The handset includes an in-display optical fingerprint sensor for security purposes. Also, it now gets IP68+IP69 rated for dust and splash-resistant.
Additional features include Vivo’s Aura Light and AI-backed photo editing tools like Erase 2.0 and Light Portrait 2.0. Apart from this, it also comes with Circle To Search, Transcript Assist and Live Call Translation functionalities.
