The Bajaj Foundation, in partnership with UNICEF YuWaah, has recently launched a nationwide campaign aimed at addressing India’s growing e-waste issue. Supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) and the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), the initiative seeks to raise awareness and promote responsible e-waste disposal practices across the country.
To begin with, the campaign will “engage over 100,000 students across 650 schools in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu; these regions were specifically chosen due to their active environmental education programs.” Through a series of workshops and hands-on learning experiences, the initiative aims to foster sustainable practices among young students.
Furthermore, the campaign will “target 50 schools per city, focusing on e-waste management and recycling.” By incorporating these practices into school curriculums, the initiative hopes to create lasting, scalable environmental impact.
