Cosmo Specialty Chemicals has introduced its new range of Oil and Grease Resistant (OGR) barrier coatings, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional polyethylene in packaging. Designed to meet rising environmental standards, the two new coatings — ‘OGR 145B’ and ‘OGR 145S’ — are water-based and FDA-compliant for direct food contact.
OGR 145B is ideal for food packaging, providing superior oil and water resistance without heat-sealing capabilities. OGR 145S, tailored for paper cup manufacturing, adds heat-sealing features for enhanced paper-to-paper bonding. Both coatings boast zero VOC emissions and have passed rigorous KIT and Cobb Index tests for optimal performance.
