In 2023, Fazer gathered feedback from consumers and found them responsive to the idea of a confectionery tablet made from malted rye—and in 2025, Taste the Future candy tablets will be available as limited editions in Finland and Sweden. Produced with malted Finnish grain and without cocoa, these products explore the future of chocolate amidst challenges in the cocoa sector, including supply shortages and ongoing child labor concerns.
While the Red Berries flavor is oat-based with dried cranberries and raspberries, the Mint Croquant flavor is rye-based and contains crunchy pieces of mint-flavored almond croquant.
These limited-edition Taste the Future tablets can be picked up from select locations for a limited time, and their packaging includes scannable QR codes for submitting additional consumer feedback.
