The latest LSWA prep poll featured several Baton Rouge-area schools moving up in the polls.
Catholic moved two spots to No. 8 in the Class 5A poll after its 41-14 victory against Central. The Bears are now 5-3 and in the driver’s seat to win the District 4-5A title after wins against Central and Zachary.
In Class 4A, Madison Prep (6-2) stayed put at No. 5 after its 32-3 win against St. Michael. The Chargers have now won five straight games.
Four teams from the area are ranked in the 3A poll. University High (6-2) defeated previously unbeaten West Feliciana (7-1) 58-30 at home to remain ranked No. 2. Lutcher (6-2) moved from No. 9 to No. 6 after its 42-40 victory against Vandebilt Catholic.
No. 7 St. James ended a two-game skid after a 43-6 win over Patterson but still dropped one spot in the poll. West Feliciana dropped two spots to No. 9 after its loss to the Cubs.
Dunham moved up one spot to No. 5 in the 2A poll after its 55-6 win against Episcopal. The Tigers also received one first-place vote.
In Class 1A, Southern Lab rose one spot to No. 4 after a forfeit win to move to 7-0. Kentwood (8-0) also moved up one spot to No. 5 after a 36-6 win over Catholic-PC. Ascension Catholic (7-1) dropped from No. 2 to No. 6 after its 34-0 loss to Riverside.
