iOS 27 Beta 7 is out, Beta 8 is next, and Apple’s fall software is nearly ready
Digital Trends
Apple hasn’t even finalized the date for the iPhone 18 Pro launch event yet, but it’s already wrapping up the software groundwork needed to roll out the stable iOS 27 update alongside it.
The company just pushed beta 7 for its entire fall lineup, iOS 27 through visionOS 27.

So what exactly landed in Beta 7?
Today’s drop includes upgrades across the board: iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, tvOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27. The drop follows beta 6 from just a week earlier.
Build numbers move forward across the board: iOS and iPadOS move to 24A5424a while macOS jumps to 26A5421a. You shouldn’t expect much to actually change, though.
This deep into a beta cycle, Apple typically shifts focus toward fine-tuning the operating system and removing bugs, improving stability rather than shipping new features. Small UI tweaks or a new icon here or there still remain possible, but don’t expect anything substantial.

What’s changed across the beta cycle?
Rewind to June, and the list of what’s actually new gets a lot longer. The very first build introduced a redesigned Liquid Glass look and the new Siri AI experience.
A few weeks later, Beta 3 broadened Siri’s AI voice customization to newer iPhones, and Beta 5 pushed that customization further into British English, alongside a new Liquid Glass icon for the Siri app.
None of that means you should rush to install beta 7, though. Developer betas remain built for testing, not daily use, and Apple’s own guidance points anyone curious toward the public beta track instead, ideally on a spare device rather than a primary phone or Mac.
Apple typically pushes 8 to 10 beta builds before wrapping up testing. With Beta 7 here, I expect the company to release Beta 8 sometime next week, with the release candidates likely following right after Apple’s iPhone event, which might take place on September 9, 2026.
