Kelsey Parker gives birth after loss of stillborn baby last year

BBC News

Kelsey Parker, the widow of The Wanted singer Tom Parker, has given birth after last year announcing the “devastating” loss of a stillborn baby.

The podcaster and author, 35, had two children with British boy band star Tom Parker before he died in 2022, aged 33, after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

She is now in a relationship with Will Lindsay and last June revealed the “earth-shattering news” that they had lost their baby Phoenix.

On Sunday, a post on her Instagram account showed a photo of a newborn baby’s arm next to a pink sign with the word River. “Welcome to the world, River. Our little bit of hope,” the caption said.

Celebrities including The Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes, TV presenter Susanna Reid and reality TV star Holly Hagan-Blyth have congratulated Kelsey Parker on social media.

“Congratulations angel,” Rochelle Humes wrote.

“Oh my goodness – this is so wonderful – welcome River,” Susanna Reid said.

Hagan-Blyth commented “I am SO happy for you xxxx”.

Kelsey Parker’s Instagram bio says “turning life’s hardest moments into hope”.

Last year she posted a poem online after the loss of her stillborn baby.

It was called Born Sleeping, Forever Loved, and began “the world grew quiet as you arrived, So loved, so longed for, yet not alive. Our precious boy, our angel light, Born with wings, took silent flight”.
