Streaming Services: What to watch on Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video and More – Digital Trends
Now that we are halfway through 2026, streaming services are packed with several new shows. Prime Video dropped a Nicolas Cage led Spider-Noir. Netflix brings Legends, a true crime drama built on real undercover missions, and a horror series, The Boroughs, from the minds behind Stranger Things. Apple TV, meanwhile, keeps its momentum going with Ted Lasso’s long-awaited return and Silo‘s twisty third season.
Longtime favorites such as House of the Dragon and From have also returned with new seasons, proving they still have plenty left to give. There are also several shows from 2025 that have just won big this awards season, including The Pitt and The Studio. At the same time, many other shows have captivated audiences, including the second season of Fallout, and Pluribus. Whatever mood you are in this week, thriller, horror, comedy, or pure escapism, there is something here worth adding to your watchlist. Read the entire guide for the full list of recommendations.
We also have guides to the best new movies to stream, the best shows on Netflix, the best shows on Hulu, and the best shows on Prime Video.
Spider-Noir (2026)

In 1930s New York, private investigator Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage) drifts through a rut following a devastating personal tragedy. Once the city’s only masked hero, Ben has stepped away from that life until an extraordinary case forces him to reconsider. Old enemies and buried secrets resurface, pulling him back toward an identity he tried to leave behind.
I love that you can watch this in both full color and authentic black and white. Nicolas Cage brings a certain kind of weariness to Ben. If you had doubts about him playing Spider-Man, drop them, because he brings a completely different energy and swagger to this role.
Stream Spider-Noir on Prime Video.
Legends (2026)

Set in early 1990s Britain, ordinary Customs and Excise employees are recruited into a top-secret operation to infiltrate the UK’s most dangerous drug smuggling gangs. Unlike trained spies, these recruits get handed entirely new identities, called legends, and thrown straight into the criminal underworld with minimal preparation.
I appreciated how grounded this show feels, since these characters are amateurs playing an incredibly dangerous game. Tom Burke anchors the tension well, and knowing it is based on real events makes every close call nail-biting.
Stream Legends on Netflix.
The Boroughs (2026)

Inside a seemingly perfect retirement community, newcomer Sam (Alfred Molina) arrives still grieving a personal loss, only to encounter something monstrous lurking beneath the community’s peaceful surface. That pulls him into an unlikely group of fellow retirees who realize that this place hides a dark secret.
Casting older actors as the leads was a brilliant decision, making the show far more entertaining than I expected. Think of it as Stranger Things, but the retirement home version. Geena Davis and Alfre Woodard bring real weight to their roles, and the Duffer Brothers’ fingerprints on the horror elements are unmistakable.
Stream The Boroughs on Netflix.
I Will Find You (2026)

David Burroughs (Sam Worthington) is serving a life sentence for murdering his own son, a crime he never committed. Just as he gives up hope, evidence suggests his son may still be alive. Desperate, David breaks out of prison and goes on the run with his ex-sister-in-law Rachel (Britt Lower) to find his son.
I found the pacing relentless in the best way, with every episode raising the stakes higher than the last. Worthington makes David’s desperation feel raw and believable, and Coben’s twisty plotting kept me guessing right up until the finale, which I did not see coming.
Stream I Will Find You on Netflix.
Widow’s Bay (2026)

This supernatural horror comedy follows the eccentric residents of a small coastal town that is cursed. At the center is a town mayor played by Matthew Rhys, drawn deeper into the town’s strange, unfolding mystery alongside a quirky group of fellow residents.
Rhys commits fully to the absurdity, and the show has the right amount of jump scares and humor, which is a tricky balance most horror comedies miss. I have to give a special mention to Kate O’Flynn as Patricia; her character is wonderfully unhinged and really fun to watch. By the end, she had completely stolen the show for me and became my favorite character.
Stream Widow’s Bay on Apple TV.
House of the Dragon (2022 – present)

Nearly 200 years before Game of Thrones, King Viserys I (Paddy Considine) dies, and his daughter Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and half-brother Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney) both claim the Iron Throne. The realm splits into the Blacks and the Greens as political scheming and dragon warfare escalate into open civil war.
I love how every character in this TV series is morally gray, true to its Game of Thrones roots. Matt Smith is magnetic and unpredictable as Daemon, and the battle gets bloodier and more fiery in the latest season.
Stream House of the Dragon on HBO Max.
Ted Lasso (2020 – present)

Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) returns for a fourth season, this time coaching AFC Richmond’s newly formed women’s team instead of the men’s side he built up over three seasons. Armed with his usual relentless optimism, Ted has to win over an entirely new roster of skeptical players and staff all over again.
I have watched all the latest episodes, and honestly, the first one felt a bit drawn out, leaving me unsure how Season 4 would hold up. But the second episode brings back that familiar Ted Lasso energy, and it left me with the feeling that this season can work just as well as the ones before it.
Stream Ted Lasso on Apple TV.
Silo (2023 – present)

This show is about thousands of survivors living inside a massive underground silo, cut off from a toxic world above. Season 3 opens with Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) surviving her forced cleaning, only to return with her memories wiped clean. The latest season also jumps back to the mysterious Before Times, following journalist Helen Drew (Jessica Henwick) and Congressman Daniel Keene (Ashley Zukerman) as they uncover the conspiracy behind the silos’ construction.
I have stuck with this show since season one because the mystery itself is compelling enough to forgive its slower stretches. Season 3 jumps between two timelines, reclaiming the tension that made the very first season so gripping.
Stream Silo on Apple TV.
From (2022 – present)

Residents of a small, seemingly ordinary town mysteriously find themselves trapped there, unable to leave no matter how hard they try. Each night, terrifying creatures crawl out of the surrounding forest, disguising themselves as humans to hunt anyone caught outside after dark. Sheriff Boyd Stevens (Harold Perrineau) works to protect the town’s unwilling residents as Season 4 pushes them closer to answers than ever before.
This show has always thrived on mysteries you cannot fully explain, and Season 4 leans into that harder than any season before it. However, a few storylines I was really excited about got abandoned without much explanation. Despite that, I have stuck with this show through its slowest stretches because each season peels back just enough mystery to keep me hooked for the next.
Stream From on Prime Video.
One Piece (2023-present)

Based on the global anime phenomenon, One Piece tells the thrilling, swashbuckling adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates, led by the gold-hearted Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy). After season 1 assembled our motley crew of heroes, season 2 shows them continuing their search for the legendary One Piece, journeying into the dreaded Grand Line.
This new season sees the Straw Hats gain new allies, such as Tony Tony Chopper (Mikaela Hoover) and Princess Vivi (Charithra Chandran) of the Alabasta Kingdom. They also find themselves with a new goal, as they decide to help Vivi save her kingdom from the evil Baroque Works.

Ted (2024-present)

Our beloved “thunder buddies” are back. In this prequel to 2012’s Ted, we follow a teenage John Bennett (Max Burkholder) through high school, where he and his plush pal Ted (Seth MacFarlane) get into a whole list of shenanigans with their family.
In season 2, Ted and John get Susan (Alanna Ubach) arrested, Ted and Blaire (Giorgia Whigham) kiss, the family plays an epic game of Dungeons & Dragons, and Matty (Scott Grimes) faces off against President Bill Clinton at a Dunkin’ Donuts. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Invincible (2021-present)

This animated series depicts the exploits of teenage superhero Mark Grayson/Invincible (Steven Yeun) as he fights to protect Earth from destruction. After surviving the Invincible War and defeating the supervillain Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in season 3, Mark and his allies continue their bloody war with the Viltrum Empire.
New villains in Invincible season 4 include the Viltrumite leader Thragg (Lee Pace), the alien Universa (Danai Gurira), and the destructive scientist Dinosaurus (Matthew Rhys).
Stream Invincible season 4 on Prime Video.
A Knight and the Seven Kingdoms (2026-present)

A hundred years before Game of Thrones, the wandering hedge knight Ser Duncan (Peter Claffey) travels through Westeros with his new squire, Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell). Though Duncan is not the sharpest or shiniest sword in the shed, he wins the hearts of those around him with his genuine desire to do good and protect the innocent.
Duncan eventually finds himself facing off against House Targaryen after getting into a fight with the evil Prince Aerion (Finn Bennett), setting off his journey to becoming a legend. While there are no dragons, White Walkers, or magic in this prequel, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms presents a thrilling, comedic, and heartfelt underdog story set in the World of Ice and Fire.
Stream A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 on HBO Max.
Wonder Man (2026)

Wonder Man is not your average superhero show. Set in a time when superhumans are banned from working in Hollywood, this satirical series sees actor Simon Williams (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) pursuing the lead role in a superhero movie remake, all while trying to control his chaotic powers.
Unbeknownst to Simon, his new actor friend, Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley), has been sent to spy on him for the U.S. government, threatening to end his career just as it takes off. If you’re tired of seeing superheroes always fighting world-threatening villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this grounded, meta series is right for you.
Stream Wonder Man on Disney+.
Fallout (2024-present)

This popular sci-fi show began with Lucy (Ella Purnell) leaving her home in the fallout shelter Vault 33 to rescue her father (Kyle MacLachlan) from marauders. While exploring the post-nuclear wasteland on the surface, she meets Maximus (Aaron Moten), a soldier from the Brotherhood of Steel, and the Ghoul (Walter Goggins), a mutated gunslinger.
Since discovering the dark truth about her father and the war that ravaged her world, Lucy has embarked on a new journey with the Ghoul to New Vegas. As their adventure continues in season 2, we see our heroes face off against more vicious survivors and monsters as war and secrets break out.

This new sci-fi series from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan launched with more viewers than Severance season 2 on Apple TV, quickly becoming one of the streaming platform’s most popular shows. Pluribus sees the human race infected by an alien pathogen that makes them part of a “benevolent” hive mind, with only 13 people being immune to infection.
Though the hive-minded “Others” tries to give her nothing but happiness, one of the immunes, author Carol Sturka (Rhea Seehorn), tries to find a way to turn everyone back to normal. However, she struggles to live under the weight of her loneliness and develops romantic feelings for Zosia (Karolina Wydra), one of the Others.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2023-present)

In Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the titular teenager Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) learns that his father is the ocean god Poseidon (Toby Stephens), all while being framed for stealing Zeus’s (Lance Reddick) master lightning bolt. After facing off against several threats straight out of Greek mythology, Percy brought order back to Mount Olympus by retrieving and returning Zeus’s bolt.
During Percy’s second summer at Camp Half-Blood, he sees his arch-nemesis, Luke (Charlie Bushnell), try to destroy the magic barrier protecting the other demigods there. Percy then embarks on another epic adventure to restore the barrier by recovering the Golden Fleece from the Sea of Monsters.

Alien: Earth (2025-present)

This Alien prequel series shows the spaceship Maginot crash-landing on Earth, carrying some of the universe’s most dangerous and terrifying species. Not only is there the iconic Xenomorph, but also a tentacled eye that can control creatures’ minds and a giant fly that sprays acid.
At the same time, Alien: Earth follows the Prodigy Corporation as they develop the “hybrids,” a new type of synthetic android housing the minds of a few terminally ill children. These hybrids become the series’ main protagonists as they attempt to capture the wild aliens on board the Maginot and eventually rebel against Prodigy on their island of Neverland.

It: Welcome to Derry (2025-present)

Set in the 1960s, this prequel series follows a handful of Derry residents as they face the wrath of Pennywise the Dancing Clown (Bill Skarsgård) before the events of 2017’s It. Adapting more material from Stephen King’s novel, It: Welcome to Derry offers a worthy expansion of the iconic horror saga, connecting it to other classic King stories like The Shining, Doctor Sleep, and The Shawshank Redemption.
In the show’s first episode, we see the Hanlon family moving to Derry, and a group of children having some unforgettable encounters with Pennywise. With the killer clown at his most chaotic, the show proves from the beginning that nobody is safe from Its wrath. The series also reveals more secrets behind Derry’s history with It and how the shapeshifting predator came to be known as Pennywise.

The Pitt (2025-present)

The first season of The Pitt follows the workers at a chaotic Pittsburgh hospital, with each episode depicting an hour in everyone’s first 15-hour shift together. This creative approach immersed audiences in a realistic and heart-pounding medical drama unlike any other.

In Severance season 2, Mark tries to find his deceased wife, Gemma (Dichen Lachman), who is revealed to be alive and held captive by Lumon. At the same time, he discovers many other dark secrets about his employers and their plans for Lumon and the world entire, making for one of the most unusual and enthralling sci-fi shows out there.
